You probably spent quite some time (and money) putting together the perfect outfits for the holidays, so you might want to keep them on stand-by for a little longer instead of shoving them to the back of your closet (or worse, throwing them out!) I penned down a couple of ideas on how to wear your favourite party numbers all year ’round. After all, there’s always something to celebrate!
The slip dress
The nineties slip dress is one of those items that is absolutely flying high at the moment. It’s said to be one of the biggest trends for spring/summer 2016 and I can totally see why. It is feminine, classy and above all: the perfect item for layering! Mix it with a big knit thrown over for example, for a casual chic look. Add some tights and ankle boots and you are good!
The sequined trousers
I get it, a glitzy pair of trousers might not be what you’d wear to the office, but there’s no need to completely eliminate them from your wardrobe. What better way to add a bit of va-va-voom to your day-to-day outfits than with a handful of sparkles? To dress them down, I’d add a pair of comfy trainers and a casual sweater or knitted jumper.
The sleeveless lurex jumpsuit
Another bang-on-trend style: the lurex jumpsuit! Or actually, anything lurex will keep you on the safe side, trend wise. If you’ve got a sleeveless version, simply wear a basic turtleneck underneath to make it more daytime-proof.
Opted for a suit this holiday season? Way to go! A suit is never out of style and can be easily dressed up or down, especially with some snazzy accessories like a fedora, or for the daytime some Serengeti sunglasses. I’m wearing one in a more relaxed way for an upcoming party. Basically, you can’t really go wrong, whatever you decide to pair it with!
What did you guys wear for Christmas and NYE this time?
